Once
all your plans--choice of cruise and itinerary, choice of cruise ship and port of departure--have been made it
will be time to get down to the preparation for your cruise vacation!
To-Do list for your cruise preparation
- Make air arrangements if you are flying to the port of departure
- Make plans for shore
excursions, whether you are booking with the cruise line or on your own.
- Make sure your proof of citizenship or passport (the cruise line will let you
know what you will need) is up-to-date and will not expire within 6 months of your cruise.
- When your cruise documents (your "tickets" as well as additional information)
arrive, double-check cabin assignment, dining assigment (if applicable) as well as all other information.
- Make sure baggage tags are with your cruise documents (if not, you can always
secure them portside but this takes a bit of time)
- Make sure that you will have enough of your medications for the length of your
cruise. If not, secure a new prescription now.
- As the date approaches, begin to get your packing in order
- Make any necessary arrangements for stopping newspaper delivery and mail or have
someone watch your home.
- If your cruise line has traditional tipping, secure enough cash to cover the tip amounts.
